The Small Print

Some of this detail is necessary for legal or insurance purposes, much of it is to ensure that we are able to provide you with all the information you require to maximise your stay with us.

Arrival

You are welcome to check-in any time between 17:00-20:00 and we ask you to telephone in advance with an approximate arrival time. This is to ensure that we are available to meet you and assist with your luggage. Arrival outside of these hours can sometimes be arranged and we will be happy to store your luggage, where possible.

Booking Amendment

 - If you need to amend a booking made through VisitScotland please telephone the VisitScotland contact centre direct (in line with their booking Terms & Conditions)

- If you need to amend a booking made directly with us, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

- If you need to cancel a booking made directly with us, please telephone us directly.

- We reserve the right to charge the full cost of your holiday if you give less than five days cancellation notice of all or part of your holiday; fail to arrive on the agreed date; cancel all or part of your holiday after you arrive

- We will waive these charges if we are able to re-sell your room

- If we need to cancel a booking made directly with you this will only be for reasons beyond our control. In such rare instances:

- We will refund you any monies owed

- We will liaise with you to identify alternative accommodation, as desired

Booking Confirmation

- Guests booking through VisitScotland will receive confirmation of booking from VisitScotland.

- Guests booking directly through us will receive confirmation of booking (usually via e-mail) upon receipt of a deposit. Once we have confirmed your booking a legal contract then exists between The Stables B&B and the person(s) making the booking.

Car Parking

There is ample private car parking in the courtyard.

Courtyard

As a former stable block, the cobbled courtyard has been restored and maintained as a feature. Guests are advised that care should be taken when in the courtyard as the cobble stones can be slippery, especially when wet.

Data Protection

During the booking process we may ask for various pieces of information about you and your requirements in order to ensure that we can best provide for your needs.

Information provided by you will be held on file by us, but we will not disclose your data to any third party (with the exception of law enforcement where we are required to do so by the relevant authority).

We may choose to e-mail you relevant information nearer to the time of your stay with us. This will relate to your interests, or what’s on in the area, or maybe places to eat. You may opt out of receiving information via e-mail.

For your security we will destroy any financial data held once payment has been made.

Departure

You are respectfully requested to vacate your room by 10:00 on departure day to allow us time to prepare for new guests. Later check-out may be possible dependent on room availability; please ask during your stay.

Disabled Access

Both guest bedrooms are on the first floor, accessed via a staircase. This coupled with the cobblestone courtyard make wheelchair access impractical. We therefore regret that we are currently unable to offer accommodation for those with restricted mobility necessitating the use of a wheelchair.

Doors

Guests are advised that in order to maintain the character of the oak internal doors, your bedroom can only be secured from the inside.

Garden

We regard our garden as “work in progress”, for your safety we will advise you which areas are accessible at the time of your stay. Naturally we recommend Knapdale Forest and Loch Sween as an ideal alternative!

Liability

The Stables B&B does not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party, or vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves.

Luggage Transfer

For those not arriving by car, it may be possible to arrange for your luggage to be transferred to/from other accommodation. Please call us to discuss your requirements and we will work with you to try and provide a viable solution.

Mobile Phones

Reception for mobiles is restricted to Vodafone at the property, and even this is unreliable as the signal comes and goes. Most people use Vodafone as it has the best coverage throughout the area, other providers such as 02 and Orange are only able to offer a patchy service with some geographical areas stronger than others.

Payment

When booking direct with us a 10% (minimum £10) deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is payable in full prior to your departure. We offer a 5% discount for guests choosing to make the full payment in advance of their stay.
We accept cash, credit cards (Visa/MasterCard), debit cards, and PayPal.

Pets

We regret that we are unable to accept pets as we have a few of our own: Murphy & Tia (labradors), Ouzo (elderly cat), Harold, Harriet, Hayley (indian runner ducks); and although they are not our pets, we are a refuge for Red Squirrels.

Prices

- Prices quoted are per person per night and are inclusive of bed and breakfast.

- Single occupancy rates are available – see bookings and enquries page

- Children (up to the age of 16) sharing their parent’s room pay the reduced rate applicable.

- Exclusive use of the guest accommodation can be guaranteed if desired, by hiring both rooms.

Radio

Living in the forest, radio reception is negligible. The music system in the guest lounge plays cassettes and CD’s.In the bedrooms, numerous radio stations can be accessed through the satellite TV system.
