Horse Riding & Pony Trekking
Riding in this area offers many miles of traffic free forestry and hill tracks with breathtaking views of lochs and mountains – another great way of discovering the beauty of Argyll.
At Brenfield you can get the 'feel' of riding, and let the horse do the work - ideal for beginners, adults and children alike. For the more experienced and adventurous, a beach gallop depending on the state of the tide that day – the horses may swim or just wade, a fantastic experience! You can also stop at a pleasant picnic spot (or pub!) for lunch as part of a full day ride.
Lunga Riding Stables offer 1-4 hour treks along forest tracks or by the shore. Livery is available for those who wish to bring their horse or pony on holiday with them.
Closer to home – a mere three miles along Loch Sween – is Daltote Farm where Trekking, cross-country and instruction for all ages and abilities is available. Treks take you up into the hills giving spectacular views over Loch Sween and beyond to the island of Dana, the Paps of Jura and more.
